Shawn lives at our Springfield campus.  Recently, he was one of the group of children who greeted Governor Blunt when he came to campus to sign a bill helping families who want to adopt children with special needs.  In the picture, Shawn  is holding a sign that says, “Welcome, Governor Blunt!”

1. How old are you?  
Nine. I’ll be 10 on August 24, 2008!

2. What is your favorite color?
Green − no blue!

3. Favorite food?
Spaghetti

4. Favorite candy?
Chocolate bars

5. Favorite dessert?
Chocolate ice cream

6. Favorite activity/art project?
Playing basketball outside. I like to paint, too!

7. Favorite subject in school?  
Science-no math!

8. Favorite sport?
Basketball!

9. Favorite sports Team?
The Bulldogs. I think it’s a school team in New York.

10. Favorite type of music or band/singer?
Rap. Toby Mac.

11. Favorite celebrity?
I don’t have one. I like a lot.

12. Favorite TV show?
SpongeBob SquarePants

13. Favorite movie?  
Eight Legged Freaks. It’s about spiders. We’re watching it now! (As he strains to look toward the television in his cottage…)

14. When I grow up I want to be…?
A policeman because I want to help people.

15. What I have learned from Boys & Girls Town?
To listen and do everything that good adults say.

16. What makes a good friend?
Someone who is nice and does good things; who helps you.

17. I am thankful for…  
I have food and some kids don’t, and also my grandma.

18. If I had three wishes they would be…?
I would say I would be rich; live in a mansion; and be a rock star.

19. Since coming to Boys & Girls Town I am different in the following ways…?
I have been doing much better with less anger so I don’t start fights now as much.

Additional comment:
I’d like to tell people that I like to have girlfriends!
